Using Manila Rope

Traditional Manila rope is longer lasting and better looking than sisal or coir ropes that are also sold for use in the garden. Our manila ropes are made in this country using traditional methods on an old fashioned "rope walk".

Fixing manila rope to posts can be achieved by either drilling a clearance hole through the post, passing the rope through the hole and securing by driving a screw or nail through the rope or using galvanised eyes attached to the side of the post these are available from stock.

It must be remembered that traditional manila rope is a natural material and will shrink to a degree when wet. When ordering, you should add around 10% to take this into account.

Ordering

We keep large stocks of manila rope for same day despatch to you - please let us know what length you require (remembering to take account of shrinkage and knots) and we will send out the rope by 24hr carrier the same day if ordered before 12.00.
